Biography

Associate professor Ryszard K. Miler PhD, MSc, holds the position as a Director of Baltic Sea Centre of Applied Logistics in the Faculty of IT and New Technologies at the WSB Merito University in Gdańsk/Poland. He has completed education (naval officer) in Naval Academy in Gdynia, Poland and a Degree as well as a PhD in Economics from the University of Gdansk, Poland. He spent three years as a staff officer in NATO Shipping Centre in Northwood, UK. He occupied the post of Associated Dean in the Faculty of Finance and Management in WSB University, Head of Logistics Department and Supervisor of the Postgraduate studies in Management of Logistics Systems and worked as a member of the expert group at the Ministry of Infrastructure for Integration of Shipping Monitoring Systems in Poland. In year 2013 was awarded certificate of professional competence from European Logistics Association at the level of European Senior Logistician (ESLog). He was a member of the international research group in the field of maritime transport competition and trans-border cooperation. He also works as a tutor and visiting professor in different universities in Poland and EU (under Erasmus mobility). His research interests focus on strategic and logistics management and maritime logistics (including shipping and cargo monitoring systems). He has worked in several research projects granted by different institutions and presented the results on international conferences, in various journals and books (100 plus publications).

PhD Eng. Bohdan Pac graduated the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia and the Gdańsk University of Technology. He completed his education at the Centre d’Instruction Navale / GEM of Toulon. He attended the military courses conducted by Marine Nationale, NATO and EU. He is experienced at the naval tactical level as the chief engineer. He worked as a lecturer in the Polish Naval Academy and as the Assistant Professor in the WSB University in Torun. He served as the staff officer at the Joint Force Command Brunssum (NATO) / Logistics Division / M&T Branch. He worked as the Senior Ops Officer in J3 Division of the Polish General Staff. PhD Pac currently holds the post of an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of the Informatics and New Technologies of WSB MERITO University in Gdansk. He worked in several projects granted by the Military Centre for Standardization, Quality and Codification, the Polish General Staff and the National Defense University. He is an author of 80 publications concerning the military and civil logistics and information operations.
