The Linguistic Surveys of England and Scotland have produced the most comprehensive analysis and presentation available to date of dialectical variation throughout all the regions of England and Scotland. All the volumes contain a variety of large, clear, annotated maps, together with a considerable amount of supplementary material in the form of word lists and explanations of the questionnaires that were devised to elicit, nationwide, the Dialect Survey material.
