Biography
Rosanne van der Voet is Assistant Professor in environmental humanities and urban studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Her research spans across various interdisciplinary strands of the blue humanities, with particular focus on more-than-human experience of environmental issues at sea, creative-critical approaches and applied ecocritical analysis of new nature-based water management projects in urban and industrial environments in the Netherlands. In these various contexts, she researches the poetics of environmental crisis, specific land- and waterscapes and of water-dwelling beings. She teaches in creative writing, modern and contemporary literature and humanities-based approaches to urbanism. She has published on the coast of South Holland, jellyfish, posthumanism and more in Ecozon@, ISLE, The York Journal and Journal of Posthumanism.
