Biography

Dr. Siddique is working as a Senior Assistant Professor at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2008 from the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, India. He got post-doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Minnesota, and the University of S. California, USA. His research specializations are Cancer Biology and molecular Pharmacology/Toxicology. He is now the Programme Director of the Molecular Cancer Genetics and Translational Research program at AMU. He so far published more than 103 original research papers in journals like Nature Communications, Hepatology, Stem Cells, Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Research, Genes and Cancer, Seminars in Cancer Biology, Seminars in Cell and Developmental Biology, Cell Death Discovery, Cor-ordination Chemistry Reviews, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, etc. He has 01 patent, two edited books, 20 chapters, and has delivered numerous invited talks. He is the recipient of more than 42 academic awards/honors, such as the SBUR-Young Scientist Travel Award, USA; IABS-Outstanding Cancer Research Award, India; SPER-Innovative Researcher Award, India; “AEDS-Distinguish Scientist Award,” India; Sir Syed Outstanding Researcher of the Year-2022, etc. He is a FELLOW of the Biotech Research Society of India and a life member of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Medical Sciences, India, the American Association of Cancer Research, the Indian Association for Cancer Research, etc.  He has served nationally and internationally as a grant reviewer of the Czech Science Foundation, Czech Republic; Health Research Board (IRB), Ireland; Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India; the Department of Science and Technology, India; Department of Biotechnology, India. He is a peer reviewer for more than 100 journals, including Genetics, i-Science, Life Sciences, BBA-Reviews on Cancer, Frontiers Genetics, Cancer Medicine, Chemosphere, Frontiers Oncology, Cancer Cell International, Physica E, Hepatic Oncology, Food and Chemical Toxicology, Redox Report, Drug Discover, Computers in Biology and Medicine, etc. He is an editorial board member/ guest editor of 15 journals, such as Recent Patents on Anticancer Drug Discovery, Frontiers in Oncology, Frontier Genetics, Cancer, Cancers, Metastasis Reviews, etc.  Recently, he has been one of the members of a group of 101 experts from different countries who have come to an expert consensus on diagnosing and treating NUT carcinoma using a multidisciplinary approach. He has supervised many post-doctoral fellows, Ph.D., MS/MD students, project fellows, and M.Sc./undergraduate students.  In addition, his research works are cited in journals like Nature, Nature Genetics, Nature Medicine, Cancer Cell, Cancer Discovery, Cell Stem Cells, Stem Cells, PNAS, Science Translational Medicines, etc. He writes popular articles on various scientific problems and social issues for the mass population and appears in TV interviews and live social media to discuss different scientific problems.
