Biography

Dr Laurel Walfish earned her medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in 2021, then completed her Internal Medicine residency followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at McGill University graduating in 2026. She is an incoming fellow in the Metabolic Bone Disease fellowship program at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. She is deeply passionate about all aspects of endocrinology, but has a particular interest in bone diseases and reproductive health. Dr Walfish is dedicated to academic medicine and aspires to lead a practice that integrates clinical care, research, and medical education.

Samantha Jacobson is a medical student at the Université de Sherbrooke with a research focus in endocrinology and women’s health. She holds a Master of Science in Developmental Psychology and Psychopathology from King’s College London and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McGill University. Samantha has contributed to multiple research initiatives at the McGill University Health Centre, including work on diabetes and pituitary disorders. Her interests include endocrinology, women’s health, and reproductive medicine, with a particular focus on complex endocrine conditions in pregnancy, including maternal hyperthyroidism and lung cancer.

Dr Isabella Albanese earned an undergraduate degree in Honours Physiology followed by a M.Sc. in Experimental Medicine at McGill University in 2014. She subsequently completed her medical degree at McGill University 2018, followed by a residency in internal medicine and then endocrinology and metabolism, 2023. Dr. Albanese then completed a Master of Health Professions Education at Maastricht University. Dr. Isabella Albanese is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at McGill University, where she practices as a clinician‑educator. Her interests include undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, faculty development, reproductive endocrinology and metabolism. She currently serves as the Undergraduate Medical Education Fundamentals of Medicine and Dentistry endocrinology content expert at McGill University.

Dr. Vanessa Tardio earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from McGill University and went on to receive her medical degree from Laval University in Quebec City. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Québec and a fellowship in adult endocrinology at the McGill University Health Centre. Dr. Tardio further advanced her expertise with clinical and research training in Quebec City, focusing on the metabolic effects of obesity and bariatric surgery on bone health. As an Assistant Professor of Endocrinology at McGill University, her clinical and research interests include obesity, weight management, and bariatric surgery, alongside a strong commitment to medical education. She currently serves as Co-Director of the MUHC Metabolic Centre of Excellence and as Co-Program Director of the McGill University Endocrinology and Metabolism Residency Training Program.
