Biography

Rudi Verburg studied economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and received his PhD from the same institution. He worked as a lecturer and researcher at several Dutch universities and taught various courses on the history of economic thought at Erasmus University Rotterdam for many years. He has published on several topics ranging from environmental ethics, values and institutions, social cohesion and the history of economic thought. His publications include Greed, self-interest and the shaping of economics (Routledge, 2018) and chapters in scholarly books and articles in various journals such as the History of Political Economy, the Journal of the History of Economic Thought, the Erasmus Journal for Philosophy and Economics, the European Journal of the History of Economic Thought and the Journal of Economic Issues.
