Encyclopedic in breadth, yet practical and concise, Medical Biostatistics, Fourth Edition focuses on the statistical aspects ofmedicine with a medical perspective, showing the utility of biostatistics as a tool to manage many medical uncertainties. This edition includes more topics in order to fill gaps in the previous edition. Various topics have been enlarged and modified as per the new understanding of the subject.

    Biography

Dr Abhaya Indrayan is author of Medical Biostatistics (3rd ed. CRC Press) and former Professor and Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics at Delhi University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi. He has frequently provided biostatistical consultation to the World Health Organization, the World Bank and UNAIDS. Dr Indrayan has delivered the inaugural address at Biostatistics Workshop at Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology, NOIDA, been a Guest of Honor at Workshop on Designs and Sample Size at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Chandigarh. and presented papers in more than 20 international conferences.

In Review by International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (Number 65, June 2018), Pentti Nieminen says, "This book is indeed a practical encyclopaedia. It is not only for biostatisticians; it is useful to all those who disseminate medical information and need to do their job well. The book is not a glossary of terms, but a pedagogically-oriented compilation. It is a reference tool for professional communication in medical statistics. Overall, this book is a very comprehensive coverage of data analysis methods as they are used in the reporting of medical research. It is organized so that it is easy to dip in to, with a comprehensive index and extensive lists of further readings available at the end of each section. For those of us who teach or supervise medical students and researchers, this is a useful resource. If you need a text book to assist with explaining, through worked examples and exercises, then you have found a gem."
