The book deals with modern theoretical concepts related to the impact of fly ash and metakaolin admixtures on structure formation processes of concrete. Results of the effect of fly ash, metakaolin and their composition on properties of self-compacting and self-leveling concrete are presented. Based on mathematical models, obtained using mathematical experiments planning methodology, the impact of the main factors and their combination on workability, strength and other properties that determine efficiency and durability of concrete are analyzed. Using calculated dependencies, a methodology for designing optimal compositions of concrete containing active mineral admixtures and superplasticizers is proposed. Features of industrial production of concrete for the proposed compositions are discussed. The book is intended for specialists working in the production of concrete and reinforced concrete products and elements. It can also be used by construction engineers to design compositions of cost-effective self-compacting and self-leveling concrete as well as to determine the rational direction of using technogenic raw materials like ash and metakaolin.

Leonid Dvorkin: MSc (1962) in Slicates Technology from Faculty of Chemical Technology at Belarus Polytechnic Institute. Junior Researcher and Deputy Director (1962–1967) for research activities at the Siberian branch of Scientific Research Institute of Cement Industry at Krasnoyarsk. PhD (1966) from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, Russia. DSc (1983) in Multifactorial Prediction of Concrete Properties from Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering. Full Professor since 1985.
His main focus is on problems related to improving technology of concrete and binders, decreasing resources consumption for their production, developing methodology for multi-parametric design of concrete compositions to produce various concrete types with required characteristics, developing effective methods for using industrial wastes for producing construction materials and elements.
Author of more than 100 patents. Published more than 40 monographs and textbooks on actual problems in technology of concrete and other binders. Published many papers and presented lectures at national and international conferences on construction materials.
V. Zhitkovsky: PhD in Constructing Materials and Products (2003) from the Odessa State Academy of Construction and Architecture (Odessa, Ukraine), ME in Technology of Constructing Materials (1996) from the Ukrainian State Academy of Water Management, Rivne, Ukraine. More than 10 years of teaching and research experience in technology of constructing materials and products. Research interests: technology of regular and HighPerformance Concretes, mortars and dry mixes, concrete mix design with desired properties.
Since 2004 a faculty member at the Faculty of Constructing and Architecture in the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering in Rivne, Ukraine. Since 2007 Assoc. Professor at the Department of Technology of Constructing Products and Material Science, Institute of Civil Engineering at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering in Rivne, Ukraine.
Published 7 monographs, 5 textbooks, about 100 papers in scientific journals, edited books and conference proceedings.
N. Lushnikova: PhD (Eng.) in Construction Materials and Products (2006) from the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Odessa, Ukraine), MEng in Technology of Building Constructions, Elements & Materials (2002) from Ukrainian State University of Water Management & Nature Resources Use (Rivne, Ukraine). More than 15 years of teaching and research experience in area of construction materials and products, materials application in architecture and environmental design. Research interests: mineral binders, concrete technology, industrial wastes, approaches in teaching material science.
Since 2005 is a member of Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture (formerly-Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture) at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering in Rivne, Ukraine. Since 2011 – Associate Professor at the Department of Building Elements Technology & Materials Science. Since 2013 – Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design at the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering in Rivne, Ukraine.
Has authored 2 monographs, 2 tutorials, more than 70 papers in scientific journals, edited books and conference proceedings.
Yuri Ribakov: ME (1991) in Structural Engineering from the Ukrainian Institute of Water Management Engineering, Rivne, Ukraine with first class honors. PhD (2001) from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Since 2000, a faculty member at the Ariel University in Israel. Head of Department of Civil Engineering (2011–2014) a Full Professor since 2014. Presently Chair of Structural Engineering at the university. Research interests include structural concrete, reinforced concrete structures, fibered concrete, etc. Co-authored seven monographs, co-edited two books, published about 200 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Serves as active member of editorial boards in international journals. Reviewed papers for more than 40 professional journals. Active member of Israel State Council for Higher Education Commission for Appointment of Professors in the Fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Health. Member of International Physics and Control Society (IPACS), EU Academy of Sciences (EUAS), Board of Directors, International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI).
