Biography

Dr. Takao Hanawa was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1957. He was Professor of Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Tokyo Medical and Dental University since 2004, and retired in 2023. He is Professor at Osaka University and Kobe University. He is also a Council Member of the Science Council of Japan. He has studied and developed new alloys, new manufacturing processes, and new surfaces for medical devices, and the biocompatibility mechanism of titanium.
