Biography

Basanta Bhowmik is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur. He was a PhD fellow at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, India. His research interests includes semiconducting materials and devices for sensing and disease diagnosis. He is the author and coauthor of 52 research articles in journals and conferences of international repute. He received a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Senior Research Fellowship award to pursue his PhD. He was given the best poster award in the event Research Scholar Colloquium organized by IIEST Shibpur in 2014. He was awarded second-best PhD thesis by the Institute of Smart Structure and System, IISc Bangalore. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Electron Device Society, IEEE Sensor Council, IEEE Nanotechnology Council, and a life member of the Institute of Smart Structure and System, India. He presently serves as an active reviewer for many journals.
