Biography

Tuukka Kaidesoja is a postdoctoral researcher at Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in the Philosophy of the Social Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland.

"Naturalizing Critical Realist Social Ontology is an important analysis and critique of Roy Bhaskar’s philosophical method. The book should be read by anyone interested in moving critical realism forward as a substantive framework for thinking about the social sciences... Naturalizing Critical Realist Social Ontology represents a valuable next step in this evolving literature."— Daniel Little, Journal of Social Ontology

"There are many things that I like about Tuukka Kaidesoja’s new book. It is systematic, thorough, carefully argued, well judged, and ambitious while remaining measured and humble. But what I like most about it is the larger intellectual project it seeks to implement: the project of naturalising critical realist social ontology, or in other words reconstructing critical realist philosophy and its account of the social world such that they are continuous with the empirical sciences and sensitive to their practices and findings."— Dave Elder-Vass, Journal of Social Ontology

"Naturalizing Critical Realist Social Ontology is an important contribution both to the debates about critical realism and to the philosophy of the social sciences in general."— Petri Ylikoski, Journal of Social Ontology
