Biography
Thakur Gurjeet Singh, PhD, MPharm, has 16 years of experience in industry, research, and teaching. He is working as Dean, Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Punjab, India. He is engaged with projects on interception of nicotine, morphine, alcohol dependence, ischemia, diabetic neuropathy and nephropathy toxicology, epilepsy, Alzheimer disease, and stem cell research studies and handles affiliation formalities with the director office. He has attended UGC networking courses and various preclinical and clinical research training programs. He has more than 182 research publications (many Scopus-indexed) as well as 25 book chapters, eight books, and 58 filed patents to his name. He has attended more than 60 national and international conferences. He has guided theses for 65 MPharm students and is supervising 10 PhD candidates. He is a reviewer for several international journals. He is a member secretary of the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals and is the In-Charge of the animal house facility at Chitkara College of Pharmacy. He is also a member secretary for institutional human ethical committee registered with the Department of Health Research and CDSCO New Delhi, India.
Sanjana Mehta, PhD, is working as an Assistant Professor and the Coordinator of the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) at Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Punjab, India. With five years of academic experience, Dr. Mehta is proficient in clinical studies and medical statistics. Her research interest revolves around advanced pharmacotherapeutic approaches toward metabolic disorders. To date, she has mentored four PharmD students and is currently supervising four PharmD, two MPharm, and one PhD candidate. Dr. Mehta is actively involved in the CancerScreen project, a collaborative venture funded by DST, NewGen IEDC, and Chitkara University, Punjab. Her team has obtained one patent, and she also has a registered copyright to her credit. She has various published patents to her credit. She has also been honored with the Best PhD Award and Award of Honor at the National Pharma Tech & Youth Fest 2023 and 2024. Her academic background includes a PharmD and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
