Biography

Jason Childs is a Lacanian psychoanalyst in private practice, consulting and teaching internationally. He was born in Australia and lives in France.

“Childs has the ear of a true clinician and the talent of the timely observation. In addition to offering a set of illuminating and accessible explorations of psychoanalytic theory, he portrays a series of clinical moments, some fleeting, some far more momentous, in which a psychoanalytic—or philosophical—concept suddenly aligns with a fragment of subjective history. This elegant volume is a consoling reminder that it is far more frequently the case that we don’t fit in than it is that we do.”

Derek Hook, Associate Professor of Psychology at Duquesne University and author of Six Moments in Lacan: Communication and Identification in Psychology and Psychoanalysis

On Not Fitting In: Psychoanalytic Rem(a)inders is a refreshing collection of essays, insightfully leading the reader on a journey through realms of psychoanalytic thought. It’s a joy to peruse the pages of this unique anthology, which mixes theory and praxis in a poetic yet accessible way.”

Vanessa Sinclair, psychoanalyst and author of Scansion in Psychoanalysis and Art: The Cut in Creation
