Operational Excellence in Healthcare Systems

About the Book Series

Researchers and practitioners alike are increasingly concerned about challenges facing today's healthcare systems, including healthcare quality, patient safety, public health, rising costs, performance, sustainability, and employee retention. This calls for improved techniques, technologies, tools, methods, approaches, or strategies that can enhance operational excellence in various healthcare settings. The goal of operational excellence is to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities of the entire healthcare value chain. This new series will publish research monographs, edited collections, professional, undergraduate and graduate-level texts in this rapidly growing field. The primary focus is on theoretical and practical advances towards improving service quality and service delivery in health systems, clinics, hospitals, hospital networks, and pharmacy networks. Proposals in related fields such as health & safety, hygiene, human factors, ergonomics, business, finance, economics, management, are quite welcome for publication in this series as long as healthcare operational excellence is the inspiration behind the study.
