Biography
Dr. Irfan Ali currently works at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Aligarh Muslim University. He did his B.Sc., M.Sc., M. Phil., and PhD from the Aligarh Muslim University. He was awarded by Post Graduate Merit Scholarship during M.Sc. (Statistics) and UGC-BSR Scholarship awarded during PhD (Statistics). He researches on various topics: Transportation Problems, Fuzzy Optimization, Applied Statistics, Survey Sampling, Supply Chain Networks and Management, Mathematical Programming, Multi-objective Optimization. He has supervised two M. Phil., and one PhD in Operations Research. He has completed a research project 'UGC- Start-Up Grant Project, UGC New Delhi, INDIA. He has published more than 65 research papers in reputed journals, and also serves as a reviewer for several journals. He is a life member of various professional society: Operational Research Society of India, Indian Society for Probability and Statistics, Indian Mathematical Society and The Indian Science Congress Association. He also serves associate editor in some journals.
Prof. Leopoldo Eduardo Cárdenas-Barrón received the B.S. degree in industrial and systems engineering, the M.S. degree in manufacturing systems, the M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering, a PhD in Industrial Engineering; all degrees from Tecnológico de Monterrey. In 1996, Leopoldo Eduardo Cárdenas-Barrón joined the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he was appointed to Assistant Professor in 1997, Associate Professor in 2001, and Professor in 2007. At present, he is a researcher of the research group in Optimization and Data Science. He is a member of the Mexican Research National System since 2015. His research activities include inventory theory, optimization and supply chain. He has published 114 papers in JCR journals. His academic and research leadership at Tecnológico de Monterrey has been awarded with several awards such as Teaching and Research Award in 2007, Rómulo Garza Prize for Research and Technology Development in 2011, and the award to the "professor who left a mark" from the Community of Former Students of Tecnológico de Monterrey, in 2013.
Prof. Aquil Ahmed did his M.Sc.& M.Phil from A.M.U. Aligarh and PhD from the University of Roorkee (Presently I.I.T.Roorkee). He has served the Department of Statistics, The University of Kashmir for more than 26 years. He has guided eight PhD scholars and published more than 90 research papers in international and national Journals. Prof. Ahmed is the Founder Head, Department of Statistics, University of Kashmir, Srinagar and functioned as the Dean, Faculty of Physical & Material Sciences. He has been Member of University Council (the highest decision-making body of Kashmir University), Chairman, Board of Studies in Statistics and member of various Academic Bodies, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. He has also worked as a Professor of Statistics at the Qassim University, Saudi Arabia for two and a half years (Dec.2008 to June 2011). Prof. Ahmed has organised three International Conferences and several Workshops on Research Methodology and delivered invited talks and special lectures in Academic Staff Colleges and the Departments of several Universities across the country on Research Methodology, Optimization and Statistics Using Software Packages (SPSS and MINITAB). He Visited Asian Institute of Technology as a Visiting Professor of decision science, at the Asian Institute of Technology, Pathumthani, Bangkok, Thailand under MHRD Programme, during 2016. Professor Ahmed is an Associate Editor of ISPS Journal (Springer) and is also Vice President of Indian Society for Probability & Statistics.
Dr. Ali Akbar Shaikh is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics at The University of Burdwan, Burdwan, West Bengal, India. He was a postdoctoral fellow at School of Engineering and Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey, México. He has obtained the award SNI of level 1 (out of 0-3) given by National System of Researchers of México from the government of México in the year 2017. He obtained MSc in Applied Mathematics from University of Kalyani, India, MPhil and PhD in Mathematics from the University of Burdwan, India. Dr. Shaikh has published 40 research papers in different peer-reviewed and JCR international journals. His research interests include inventory control theory, interval optimisation and Particle Swarm Optimization.
