Biography
Humaira Qadri is an associate professor, heading the department of Environmental sciences in Govt. Degree College, Baramulla (Autonomous). She is the Dean for Research and the Joint Controller of Examinations of that college. On the academic front, she is currently involved in teaching the students majoring in Environmental sciences pursuing Honours with Research degrees. She has also been actively involved in teaching the post-graduate students of Environmental Science for the past ten years in Sri Pratap College Campus, Cluster University Srinagar, J&K, India in addition to heading the Department of Environment and Water Management of that for the same period. A gold medallist at her master’s level, she has bagged a number of awards and certificates of merit. On the research front, her specialization is in Limnology, Nutrient Dynamics and Phytoremediation. She holds an independent patent for her invention in the field of phytoremediation. She has published scores of papers in international journals (h-index 14) and has more than thirteen books with national and international publishers. She is also the reviewer of various international journals. She has also been the Principal Investigator of sponsored research projects from some reputed agencies like DST-GOI and JKST&IC. A number of students from various Universities have pursued and are pursuing their doctoral degrees under her supervision. She has supervised more than 60 master’s dissertations. She also has been on the scientific board of various international conferences and holds life memberships of various international organizations. With several national scientific events to her credit, she is an active participant in national and international scientific events and has organized a number of conferences, congresses, workshops, symposiums and seminars of national and international repute.
Sartaj Ahmad Bhat is working as JSPS Postdoctoral Researcher in the River Basin Research Center, Gifu University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. for Environmental Sciences from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India in 2017. His primary research focuses on development and evaluation of treatment technologies for solid waste and wastewater from domestic and industrial outlets as well as organic waste recycling, with a focus on the biological and sustainable treatment by earthworms. He has published more than fifty research papers in peer-reviewed journals, three books, and few book chapters to his credit. He is also an Editor, Editorial Board Member, and Reviewer of many international reputed journals published by internationally reputed publishing houses such as Taylor and Francis. Dr. Bhat is a recipient of several prestigious awards such as the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship to pursue research at River Basin Research Center, Gifu University, Japan, the Basic Scientific Research Fellowship (BSR JRF, SRF) by University Grants Commission (UGC) India, the DST-SERB National Postdoctoral Fellowship (CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur, India) and Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship by the Govt. of India. He has also received the 2020 Outstanding Reviewer Award by International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, MDPI (Basel, Switzerland) as well as Top Peer Reviewer 2019 in Environment and Ecology by Web of Science and has more than 600 Verified Reviews and 60 Editor Records to his credit.
Gowhar Hamid Dar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Environmental Science, Sri Pratap College, Cluster University Srinagar, Department of Higher Education (J&K). He has a PhD in Environmental Science with specialisation in Environmental Microbiology (Fish Microbiology, Fish Pathology, Industrial Microbiology, Taxonomy and Limnology). He has been teaching postgraduate and graduate students for the past many years at Post graduate Department of Environmental Science, Sri Pratap College, Cluster University Srinagar. He has more than 70 research articles (h-index 13; i-index 14; total citation >950) in international and national journals of repute and a number of books with international publishers to his credit. Moreover, he is supervising several students for the completion of degrees. He has been working on the Isolation, Identification and Characterization of microbes, their pathogenic behaviour and impact of pollution on development of diseases in fish fauna for the last several years. He has received many awards and appreciations for his services towards the science and development. Besides, he also acts as a member of various research and academic committees. Further, Dr. Dar is Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for different R&D projects sanctioned by Govt. of India and Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir.
Balasubramani Ravindran is a Professor (Asst.) in the Department of Environmental Energy & Engineering, Kyonggi University, Suwon, South Korea. He obtained his Ph.D from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (C.S.I.R) -Central Leather Research Institute (C.L.R.I), which is affiliated with the University of Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. He has received Senior research fellow (C.S.I.R fellowship award) for his Ph.D. research work and also received a post- doctoral fellowship from Hong Kong, South Africa and South Korea Universities. His primary research focuses on the development of novel treatment technologies for solid waste and wastewater generated from domestic and industries through aerobic and anaerobic fermentation; Composting/vermicomposting, activated carbon, biochar/black carbon amendments, nanotechnology applications, phytotoxic/plant growth studies, etc. Besides, he filed patents based on the above novel process. He has around 20 years of research experience in the field of Environment technology. He has more than hundred publications in international peer reviewed journals, edited three books and published notable book chapters, and three patents to his credit. He has received national and international research grant funds for his research project. He serves around ten special issues as the Managing Guest Editor/Guest editor in Elsevier, Springer, Frontiers, MDPI and Hindawi journals. Besides, he also served as an academic editor in PLOS ONE journal. He is an active reviewer for many high-impact international journals and received “Outstanding reviewer award” from internationally acclaimed publishing houses. He is an active member of the International Solid Waste Association. He has received “Best Researcher- IBET 2017” award (in waste management research) for Exceptional Performance and Contributions to ‘International Bio-energy technology/eco protection/organic food/green business’ given by the International Centre for Biogas & Bio-energy Technology, India. In addition, he also received an “Active Individual Membership” from the “International Solid Waste Association (ISWA)”, Vienna, Austria.
Abdul Roouf Bhat is an associate professor currently working as Dean Academics and Controller Examinations of Govt. Degree College, Baramulla (Autonomous). He has been heading the department of Chemistry in that college for two years. He has been actively teaching organic chemistry to the students majoring in Chemistry. He has also been involved in teaching chemistry to post graduate students in Sri Pratap College Cluster University Srinagar. He has around 15 years of teaching and research experience and has published around 40 research papers in international journals with high impact factor. His current research is focussed on identification, isolation and extraction of anti-cancer compounds from high altitude medicinal plants He has 02 international patents to his credit contributing to novel compounds having anti-cancer properties. His areas of research include synthetic chemistry, cell biology, Cancer and protozoal diseases. He has also rendered his services as a research professor in Yeungnum University, South Korea and Sunyatsen University, Taiwan where he has been actively involved in Cancer research. He has been the principal investigator of various sponsored research projects by agencies like UGC, GOI and JKST&IC. He is the reviewer of various international Journals and has held editorial positions in a number of journals of repute. He has supervised a number of Master’s dissertations and is mentoring a number of research students. He has a number of national and international scientific events to his credit.
