“Zaheer Ali's book is the first and the most comprehensive one that calls for a larger readership. The book presents a panoramic view of Mulla as a poet and prose writer, which also places him in a context and helps the reader appreciate Mulla's worldview. In order to meet his aim, the author has laid out the contours of his life in detail in the first chapter, which offers a close portrayal of the man and poet together.

The book gains in value because of this chapter, which prepares the reader to enter Mulla's world, his individual hankerings, and desires. Zaheer Ali's book rehabilitates Mulla in a comprehensive manner for the first time. His book deserves to reach out to a larger readership.”
