Biography

Richard Westra is a University Professor (Habilitation equivalent) at the University of Opole, Poland and an International Adjunct Professor in the Center for Macau Studies, University of Macau, Macau.

In an era of deepening ecological catastrophes and increasingly authoritarian political responses, such creative thinking about alternatives is urgent. Political Economy of Eco-sustainable Alternatives provides essential tools for that work, combining critical clarity with theoretical depth to show how imagined futures can become materially realisable. In sum, Westra’s book is indispensable for readers engaged with eco-socialism, de-growth, solidarity economics, sustainability debates, or those seeking to explore concrete suggestions to alternative eco-sustainable societies.
