    Biography

    Mahesh Kumar is currently working as a professor, department of electrical engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. His areas of research include power distribution network, power quality monitoring, analysis and interpretation, power electronics application in power system, custom power devices, DSTATCOM, DVR, UPQC, etc. He has published more than 250 research papers in journals of national and international repute and conferences. He has taught courses including electromechanical energy conversion, control systems, transmission lines, advance topics in power system, power system quality and reliability and high voltage power transmission at the undergraduate and graduate level. He is a life member of the Indian Society of Technical Education. He received the IETE Professor Bimal Bose Award in 2015 for his outstanding contributions to Power Electronics Applications in Power Systems. He is a senior member of IEEE and served as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), Fellow of IE(I).
