Biography
Abdul Razzak Rumane, Ph.D., is a Chartered Quality Professional-Fellow of The Chartered Quality Institute (UK) and a certified consultant engineer in the fields of electrical engineering and project management. He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from Marathwada University, India, in 1972, and his Ph.D. from Kennedy Western University, USA, in 2005. Dr. Rumane has received numerous honors, including an honorary D.Phil. degree for expertise in quality management from The International University of Ministry and Education, Missouri, USA (2021), an Honorary Doctor of Engineering from Yorker International University, USA (2007), a gold medal from The Albert Schweitzer International Foundation for "Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Quality in Construction Projects," and the "Global Award for Excellence in Quality Management and Leadership" from the World Quality Congress. He has delivered technical presentations at various international conferences and has authored and edited nine books published by CRC Press (A Taylor & Francis Group Company) and authored one book published by Routledge (A Taylor & Francis Group Company). The first edition of “Quality Management in Construction Projects” (CRC Press, 2011) was translated and published in Korean.
Dr. Rumane is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India), holds Honorary Fellowship of the Chartered Management Association (H.K.), and is a Senior Member of ASQ and a Member of PMI and KSE, among others. He has served as International Liaison Committee Chair of ASQ (Design and Construction Division) since 2023 and previously held leadership positions including Treasurer of the ASQ Kuwait Section, Secretary of ASQ GC (2019), Secretary of ASQ LMC, Kuwait (2017-2018), and Honorary Chairman of The Institution of Engineers (India), Kuwait Chapter (2005-2007, 2013-2014, and 2016-2017). Dr. Rumane conducts training in quality in construction projects, construction management, and project management. His professional career exceeds 50 years, including 10 years in manufacturing industries and over 40 years in construction projects. He is presently associated with SIJJEEL Co., Kuwait, as Advisor and Director of Construction Management.
