Biography
Dr. Jong S. Lim is a professor at Zhejiang University, China, and the CEO of QEM Technologies, a global consulting firm specializing in quality, reliability, and innovation. With over 35 years of leadership experience in the global automotive and electronics industries, he is an internationally recognized authority in quality and reliability engineering. Dr. Lim began his career at Hyundai Motors in 1985 and later earned his Ph.D. in Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer from Duke University, where he studied under the renowned Professor Adrian Bejan. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held senior engineering and executive roles at some of the world’s leading companies. At Samsung Electronics, he specialized in product reliability and thermal management systems. As New Model Project Manager at Honda Motors North America, he oversaw the development of key models, including the Civic, Odyssey, and MDX. During Dr. Lim’s tenure as Vice President of Quality at Renault Samsung Motors, he established a quality system that earned the #1 ranking in customer satisfaction in Korea for ten consecutive years. At Geely Group, he served as Vice President, leading R&D efforts and Volvo platform integration. Additionally, as Senior Director of Reliability Engineering at FAW Group, he developed reliability architectures for next-generation electric vehicles. Dr. Lim is also the author of the book Quality Management in Engineering (Taylor & Francis, 2019), further solidifying his expertise and contributions to the field.
