Recent Advances in Civil Engineering
The Civil Engineering department of Cochin University of Science and Technology organized an International Conference on Recent Advances in Civil Engineering (ICRACE) to disseminate the know-how and challenges in this area among technocrats, practicing civil engineers, researchers etc. This conference has been conducted biennially since 2004. The conference holds an interactive platform to find solution for various problems in construction field.

Biography
Dr Job Thomas is a renowned consulting structural engineer and is currently working as Professor
and Head of the Department of Civil engineering at Cochin University of Science and Technology. He
has published more than 50 research papers in national and international journals. He received the
outstanding Concrete Researcher Award in 2020 from the Indian Concrete Institute, Kochi Centre.
Dr Subha Vishnudas, Professor in Civil Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology,
Cochin, Kerala, India. She graduated in Civil Engineering in the year 1991 and took Master’s in 1995
from Kerala, India. She pursued PhD from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands in 2006. She
has about 25 years of teaching and research experience and has around 80 publications in international
journals and conferences. She has visited several countries like The USA, Germany, Australia, Japan,
Netherlands, Spain, etc. for papers presentation and invited talks. She is a member in several professional
bodies in India and abroad. About 10 PhD research scholars are working under her guidance in the field
of sustainable development. Her area of interest include water resources, sustainable building materials,
sustainable water management, sustainable waste management, housing and green buildings.
