Biography

Samir Shihada is a Professor of Structural Engineering with extensive academic and practical experience in reinforced concrete design and structural assessment with a strong background in ACI code applications. Shihada has published the first through the third edition of this proposed book. He also has published numerous peer‑reviewed articles, supervised a wide range of graduate research, and developed technical design resources widely used in both teaching and practice. His areas of expertise include structural safety, retrofitting, and dynamic loading design.

Mohammed A. Arafa is a Professor of Structural Engineering with extensive academic and practical experience in reinforced concrete design, structural analysis, high‑performance concrete materials, and structural assessment. He has published numerous peer‑reviewed articles, supervised a wide range of graduate research, and developed technical design resources widely used in both teaching and practice. His areas of expertise include structural safety, finite element analysis with a strong background in ACI code applications, and spreadsheet‑based solutions. Mohammed A. Arafa brings both depth and clarity to complex design topics.
