Biography

Karan Sotoodeh is an oil and gas engineer and author. He is former senior/lead valve and actuator engineer at Baker Hughes in Olso, Norway. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Safety and Reliability in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stavanger. Karan has almost 16 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, mainly with valves, piping, actuators, and material engineering. He has also been to international conferences in the United States of America, Germany, and China to talk about valves, actuators, and piping. Dr Sotoodeh has worked with many valve suppliers in Europe in countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, and Norway. He is the author of Pipeline Valve Technology (CRC Press, 2022) and Coating Application for Piping, Valves and Actuators in Offshore Oil and Gas Industry (CRC Press, 2022).
