Biography

Elisa-Maria Hiemer holds a PhD in Slavic Studies and is currently a senior researcher at Freie Universität Berlin, in the global history project "Democratising the Family?". Beyond questions of gender and family, her research includes Polish-German relations, urban narratives, and memory studies at the intersection of culture, literature, and history in Central Europe.
