Biography

Bertrand Liang, MD, PhD, MBA/AMP, PgDipl (Law) is a board certified neurologist and Fellow, American Academy of Neurology, and is the Research Director, Touro University Medical Group, and a faculty member in the Department of Neurology at the teaching program of St. Joseph Medical Center, where he acts as mentor for residents and students, as well as in the Department of Neurology at the Anschutz School of Medicine of the University of Colorado, with emphasis on medical student teaching. Dr. Liang brings a wealth of experience in clinical medicine. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals, 12 chapters in medical textbooks, and four books, including “How to Start a Private Practice” (2025, Taylor and Francis), “Managing and Leading for Science Professionals” (2014, Academic Press), “Pragmatic MBA for the Scientific and Technical Executive” (Elsevier 2013), “Mitochondria in the Tumourigenic Phenotype” (2010, iUniverse) and edited “Hematology-Oncology Clinics of North America – Neuro-oncology” (2001, Harcourt). He was elected a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology due to his exemplary achievements in Neurology, as well as a Nominating Member, Sigma Xi, the research honor society, due to his long history of basic and clinical research. Dr. Liang maintains an active teaching schedule, focusing on clinical medicine and physician entrepreneurship. Dr. Liang is an alumnus of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, the Institute of Materials Research and Innovation, University of Bolton, the Law School at University of London/Queen Mary, the MIT Sloan School of Management, as well as clinical programs at Brown University and the University of Michigan, with studies in molecular biology and genetics at the National Center for Human Genome Sciences and National Cancer Institute.
