Biography

Luis F. Yanes is an international human rights lawyer, who is currently the Scottish Human Rights Commission’s chief expert on economic, social, and cultural rights. For almost two decades, he has worked across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, including as Human Rights Specialist at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Research Fellow at the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights, Associate Lecturer at the University of Essex and the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Visiting Scholar at the University of Pretoria and Legal Officer at the Program of Action in Education in Human Rights. Luis is currently a Guest Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
