Biography
Amitav Bhattacharya, is Ex Principal Scientist (Plant Physiology), Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR), Kanpur, India. He earned his master’s degree in Botany with specialization in Plant Physiology from Allahabad University. He got his Doctorate Degree in Plant Physiology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, India. He served at the Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur, India for more than 35 years and retired as Principal Scientist, and during the service period he was actively engaged in Physiological research on grain legumes both in field and in laboratory. He also looked after the All India Coordinated Physiological Research Programme being conducted under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, India on various grain legume crops at different centers, spread across India. He has already published several research articles, book chapters as well as books through Indian as well as through International Publishers.
