Biography
Ashok Kumar Jha, PhD, is Associate Professor in the University Department of Chemistry at T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. During Dr. Jha’s stellar academic career, he has organized international and national seminars and webinars sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UCG), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Bihar Council on Science and Technology; National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development; and other agencies. He has delivered many invited talks in India and abroad. Dr. Jha has teaching and research experience of 36 years. His interests are reflected through his many papers published in various national and international journals related to kinetics, coordination, and adsorption of arsenic and heavy metals. He has nine books to his credit to date. He has completed two research projects sponsored by UGC and has been working on the problem of arsenic and heavy metal contamination and their removal. He teaches solid-state chemistry and quantum chemistry in postgraduate courses. He is currently the Vice-President of the Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata. He also publishes a biannual journal, Jalchintan.
