Biography

Syed Mehdi Ashraf is a licensed engineer under the structural disciplines (I & II), general contractor, building official, building plans examiner and special inspector. He is also certified as a building official, building plans examiner, building inspector, and structural plans examiner. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including Florida ASCE Government Engineer of the Year, Miami-Dade ASCE Engineer of the Year, Broward ASCE Engineer of the Year, South Florida Plans Examiner of the Year and Distinguished Alumni of the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He has also been honored at the Florida International University, University of Miami, City of Miami Beach and Temple Emanuel. He is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has been an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Civil Engineering, Florida International University, offering graduate and undergraduate courses in Structural Steel, Pre-stressed Concrete and Timber Design. He has also offered several seminars on engineering laws and rules and many other engineering topics.
