Biography
Maarten Bonnema, a full professor in Systems Engineering and Multidisciplinary Design at the University of Twente in The Netherlands, specializes in advancing Systems Engineering competence for the high-tech industry. He applies a systems perspective to critical areas such as energy transition and electric mobility. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Bonnema is an industry trainer and has authored or co-authored over 100 scientific publications, general articles, two course books, and several patents. With more than two decades of academic experience and a strong background in the high-tech industry, his goal is to enhance the adoption of Systems Engineering in multidisciplinary development environments.
Jan Broenink is an emeritus associate professor of Embedded Control Systems and Program Director of the MSc program Robotics at the University of Twente, having set up this MSc program. He teaches Robot Software Design and Systems Engineering, using the latter methods for doing and supervising MSc final projects. Research interests are robot-software architectures and real-time software for Robotics, using Systems Engineering approaches in multidisciplinary systems design in the area of robotics.
