Biography

A.H. Dodd (1891–1975) was an academic historian who taught and published widely, specialising in the politics of the Tudor and Stuart periods, Welsh history, and the history of the Industrial Revolution.

Reviews of the first publication:

‘Traces the development in a lucid way…Students of history will be glad to possess it, but as the subject is of such great general interest, it should attract a wider audience.’

The Scotsman

‘A lively, lucid and acute little book…The essential points are made plainly and with proper emphasis. Professor Dodd has succeeded in displaying the whole curious process of trial and error as it actually happened…’

Birmingham Post

‘Teachers and students of English history will be grateful to Professor Dodd for this compact and useful work…it is informal in tone and lively in style.’
