Biography

Anders Sandström is a practising accountant, treasurer at Sveriges Arbetares Arbetslöshetskassa (SAAK), and member of the Participatory Economy Project (PEP) and the International Network for Democratic Economic Planning (INDEP).

“Anders Sandström makes participatory economics sound much more concrete! He has the courage to go into a level of detail that was never reached on this model. A thoughtful and stimulating contribution to the debate on democratic economic planning.” — Simon Tremblay-Pepin, Saint Paul University, Canada

“Anders Sandström has been applying his skills as a professional accountant to creative thinking about post-capitalist economies for more than two decades.  In his first book, Anarchist Accounting, Sandstrom explained why post-capitalist economies present new challenges for accounting. In The Participatory Economy: Adding Realism to Democratic Planning he digs much deeper into solutions to practical problems those who launch a "participatory economy" would face. Sandstrom is clearly the preeminent accountant dealing with issues which advocates for post-capitalism have ignored far too long.” — Robin Hahnel, Professor Emeritus at The American University in Washington DC.
