Interest in the phenomenon known as "lean" has grown significantly in recent years. Daryl J. Powell is the Lean Program Manager at the Subsea division of Kongsberg Maritime AS, Norway, and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
