The theoretical pivot of this study is an analysis of the dynamics of political culture and the mechanisms of the interaction between political culture and diplomatic strategy. PAN Yaling is Professor in the Institute of International Relations at Yunnan University and Adjunct Professor in the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. She specializes in American politics, U.S. foreign and security policy, and International Relations (IR) theory.
