Biography

Behrooz Vahidi was born in Abadan, Iran. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 1980, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran in 1989, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, U.K., in 1997. From 1980 to 1986 he worked in industry as a Chief Engineer in the field of high voltage. Since 1989 he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology, where he is currently a professor. Prof. Vahidi is Senior Member of IEEE. He was selected as the Distinguished Researcher of Iran by the Ministry of Higher Education of Iran in 2011, and by the Iranian Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 2012. He has authored or coauthored more than 500 papers, and 6 books and 13 book chapters on high-voltage engineering and power systems. His main fields of research are renewable energy, high voltage, electrical insulation, power system transients, lightning protection, and pulsed-power technology.

Ashkan Teymouri was born in Zanjan, Iran. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2016. He received the M.Sc. degree In Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, from Amirkabir University of Technology Tehran, Iran in 2018 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (power system and high voltage engineering) from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran in 2022. He has also completed a research internship at Eindhoven university for 9 months in the Netherland in 2020. He has also collaborated with DNV in the Netherlands for 12 months in 2021. Now, he collaborates with the Iran Transfo Company R&D, Zanjan, Iran and he is editor of transformer magazine and also IEC TC 14 and TC 10 Expert member.

Hamed Dehghani was born in Zanjan, Iran. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tabriz University, Tabriz, Iran in 2011. He received the M.Sc. degree In Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, from Amirkabir University of Technology Tehran, Iran in 2013 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (power system and high voltage engineering) from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran in 2022. Now, he collaborates with the TAVANIR Company (Iran Generation, Transmission and distribution Company), Iran and he is editor of IET, Elsevier, American institute of physics and scientia iranica journals. His research interest includes power system modelling, power systems assets life management, demand response programs and optimization problems.

Reza Khalili was born in Arak, Iran in 1996. He received the Bachelor's degree from University of Isfahan, Iran in 2018. He received the M.Sc. degree from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran in 2022. He is now Ph.D. student at Stony Brook University, NY, USA. His research topic concerns the controlling, planning and operation of the demand side flexibility, and demand response application. He also works on the energy supply in power system structure.
