Biography

Dr. Abel Maciel is a practicing architect and Associate Professor at University College London (UCL). At UCL, he teaches courses on digital engineering management and digital transformation. His research interests encompass, Digital Twins, Computational Design, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Distributed Ledger Technology (Blockchain). Additionally, he serves as the Director of Design Computation Ltd, a specialized consultancy based in London, where his primary focus lies in the development and delivery of complex Building Information Modelling and Digital Twins, Programmatic Design, Digital Fabrication, and the exploration of emerging digital technologies for design, including Distributed Ledger Technologies.
