Biography

Harun-or-Rashid, former Professor of Political Science and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka, Vice-Chancellor of National University Bangladesh, obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of London (1983). He carried out post-doctoral research at Heidelberg, Uppsala, Ryukoku, and other universities. He has published extensively in journals at home and abroad. His major works include From 1947 Partition to Bangladesh (2021), The Foreshadowing of Bangladesh (2012), and Inside Bengal Politics (2003). Rashid is the chief editor of the ten-volume Encyclopedia of Bangladesh Liberation War (in Bengali, 2020).
