Maria Christina Chatziioannou is Research Director Emerita at the Institute of Historical Research/National Hellenic Research Foundation (Athens). Her interests focus on social and economic history (18th–20th centuries.)
Sophia Laiou is Associate Professor of Ottoman History at Ionian University (Corfu). Her interests focus on the social and economic history of the Ottoman Empire.
