Biography

Sharon Shih-Jiuan Hou is Associate Professor of Chinese at Pomona College, USA. She received her PhD degree from The University of Wisconsin-Madison in Chinese literature. At Pomona she has taught a variety of language and literature courses in modern and classical Chinese as well as Chinese literature in English translation. Among her published writings is Intellectual Ferment in China: The Hu Shi Reader, An Advanced Reading Text for Modern Chinese (Compiled and Annotated by Sharon Shih-jiuan Hou and Chih-p’ing Chou, 1990).
