Biography

Dr. Tanuj Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nanoscience and Materials, Central University of Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, with 8 years of teaching experience. He completed his Ph.D. at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, focusing on ion beam induced nanopatterning and their applications. Presently, his focus area is the importance of ion beam metal nanoparticles in SERS based chemical detection in water. Dr. Kumar has an impressive publication record, with 48 papers in international journals and 6 book chapters. Additionally, he has secured two sponsored projects from IUAC and DST-SERB and has guided 26 master students’ dissertations along with three ongoing Ph.D. students. His research excellence has been recognized through CSIR-JRF, CSIR-SRF, and Fast-track young scientist fellowships.

 

Dr. Richa Kothari (M.Phil., Ph.D.) is currently a Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Central University of Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, India. She is a WARI (Water Advanced Research and Innovation) Fellow, Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA, with over 18 years of teaching and research experience. Recognized among Stanford University’s World’s top 2% scientists (2020–2024), her research interests include algal-based biofuels, bio-hydrogen, and renewable energy for wastewater treatment. She has been conferred with the Women Scientist’s Award, 2025 by the Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer, Rajasthan, India, in March 2025, and the ASSOCHAM J&K Women’s Achiever Award on 10th March 2023. She has authored more than 140 journal articles, 5 patents, gained approximately 8907 citations, and holds an h-index of 45 and an i10-index of 106. She has also worked as a guest editor for special issues in the Journal of Biofuels, Journal of Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, Environmental Sustainability, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. She has guided 8 Ph.D./M.Phil., 65 M.Sc. and approximately 40 M.Tech. students. She has also delivered a number of invited lectures at national and international level.

 

Dr. Anita Singh is currently working as Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Studies, Central University of Haryana, Haryana. She is having more than 12 years of teaching and research experience. Dr. Singh did her Ph.D. on bioethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar. She did her Post-doctoral research from University of Georgia, USA, on selective removal of inhibitors from lignocellulosic biomass. Dr. Singh, published 40 papers in international journals and 6 book chapters in various edited books. She has published three edited books with reputed publishers. Dr. Singh completed two sponsored projects from UGC and DST-SERB (ECR). She guided 36 master students’ dissertation and supervised 2 Ph.D. students. Dr. Singh, awarded CSIR- SRF and CSIR-RA fellowships for research during Ph.D. and after Ph.D. Dr. Singh was awarded UGC Raman Post doctoral fellowship for doing research in USA.

 

Dr. Deepak Pathania is Professor and Dean Research Studies at Central University of Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir. He is also serving as President of Him Science Congress Association, Himachal Pradesh, a scientific society working for promotion of sciences in state. He also served as Dean Research Studies, Dean Students’ welfare and Dean Life Sciences at central University of Jammu from 2017 to 2020. Dr. Pathania has served for 2 years on deputation as Dean Academic Affairs, Dean Physical Sciences and Dean Planning and Development at Sardar Patel University, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. He has served as Chairman of several academic committees. He is member of University Court, Executive council, Academic Council and Board of Studies of different Universities. He has been awarded with D.Sc. Degree from Jaunpur University in 2021. He has about 23 years of teaching and research experience and has figured among 2% Scientists of the world continuously for 6th Year (2020-2025) as per survey Stanford University, USA. He served as court member (Nominated by Visitors) of University of Hyderabad from 2018-2021 and was the Member of Technical committee of Ministry of Environment, Govt. of India. He has received distinguished alumni award from National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab for dedications, contribution and achievements in the field of teaching, innovations and research on 4th October, 2021. He has completed many research projects funded by AICTE and UGC. He is member of different professional scientific societies. Dr. Pathania has guided 17 Ph.D., 14 M.Phil and 52 M.Sc research projects for their respective degrees. He has about 202 publications in reputed Journals and 148 publications in conferences to his credit and has been awarded 3 international and 3 national patents. His research h-index is 58 and i10-index is 135. He has authorized 15 books in different areas of interest from believed publishers. Dr. Pathania is editorial member and reviewer of different national and international journals and has published 32 book chapters in reputed national and international books. He is also life member of different scientific societies.
