Vasant Natarajan
Vasant Natarajan earned his B.Tech. from IIT, Madras; his M.S. from RPI, Troy; and his Ph.D. from MIT, Cambridge. He then worked at AT&T Bell Labs, Murray Hill, New Jersey before joining the Physics Department at IISc in 1996, where he has been ever since. His research interests are in laser cooling and trapping of atoms; quantum optics; optical tweezers; quantum computation in ion traps; and tests of time-reversal symmetry violation in the fundamental laws of physics using laser-cooled atoms.
