J. Michael Walton

Published research has been mainly in the field of theatre history and drama translation, much of it influenced by work as a practitioner. Special emphasis has been placed on the performance of tragedy and comedy in the Greek and Roman world and translation of classical plays into English from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries.
