David S. Gutterman is Associate Professor of Politics and the Associate Director of the Center for Religion, Law & Democracy at Willamette University. He is the author of Prophetic Politics: Christian Social Movements and American Democracy and co-editor (with Andrew Murphy) of Religion, Politics, and American Identity: New Directions, New Controversies. His work has also appeared in Theory & Event, Politics, Groups, and Identities, and numerous edited volumes.
