I am Reader in English Literature and Film at Manchester Metropolitan University and a member of the Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies. My books include Spanish Gothic (2017), Horror Film and Affect (2016) and Body Gothic and I have edited the collections Twenty-First-Century Gothic: An Edinburgh Companion (with Maisha Wester, 2019) and Horror: A Literary History (2016). I have also edited fiction anthologies on weird and Gothic fiction for the British Library.
