After a varied career as a marketing manager, lecturer, author, consultant, publisher and research manager, I am now enjoying being able to draw on all this experience to work with organisations of all sizes and types to develop their leaders and managers, design and deliver talent management and leadership development programmes, and write and edit books and learning resources.

Biography
My first career was in marketing, my second as an economics and business studies lecturer, and business school manager. That led me into a management training, first at a residential management centre then as a freelance trainer, morphing into running a specialised research and development consultancy, producing learning resources, as well as writing extensively for various publications. One of my clients bought me out and I finished up as Head of Research at the Institute of Leadership & Management, from which I retired in 2014, and went back to writing and consultancy work (on a part time basis).Education

I am passionately interested in the development of leadership capability, and have the good fortune of being able to draw on the extensive body of work I was responsible for at ILM, as well as keeping up to date with the best academic research in this area.
Personal Interests

As well as reading and writing about leadership development, and undertaking research projects for clients and the occasional conference or training course appearance, I spend most of my free time managing our 8 acres of woodland here in Somerset!
