Steven David Brown
Steven qualified as a barrister before becoming a police officer and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. He specialises in developing law enforcement capacities at the international level (most recently in cybercrime and electronic evidence). His extensive experience includes advising on counter-narcotics, integrity, forensic science and intelligence-led strategies in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Armenia and many other countries for the UN, EU, Europol and the Council of Europe.

Biography
After practising for a short while as a barrister, Steven David Brown became a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service in London, later serving with the National Criminal Intelligence Service and joining the European Police Office (Europol). Since 2005, he has been involved in international technical assistance in the areas of criminal justice and law enforcement. As well as gaining considerable experience working in Central and Eastern Europe, Steven was the Senior Law Enforcement Advisor for UNODC in Central Asia and the policy advisor to law enforcement agencies for the EU Advisory Group in Armenia. Most recently he project managed the Global Action on Cybercrime for the Council of Europe which entailed extensive and frequent travel in the Southern Hemisphere building capacity and delivering training in cybercrime and electronic evidence to judges, prosecutors and law enforcement.Steven read organised crime, criminology, terrorism and security for his MA at the Graduate School of European and International Studies at the University of Reading for which he was awarded a distinction. He also holds a graduate diploma in Financial Crime Prevention from the International Compliance Association and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. He speaks good Italian and German as well as a smattering of Mandarin and some French.
