Biography

I am a licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, and Certified Autism Specialist. I own and operate the Robert Jason Grant Ed.D and AutPlay Therapy Center. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, and American Mental Health Counselors Association.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My experience and specialization involves working with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Mood Disorders, BiPolar Disorder, Depression Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Adjustment Disorders (divorce, grief and transition issues).

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/trauma related therapy for children and adults. I also provide career and life planning/counseling and assessment with adolescents and adults.

I also specialize in working with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders. I am the creator of AutPlay® Therapy, an autism and neurodevelopmental disorders therapy incorporating play therapy, behavioral therapy, and relationship development approaches. I am also a Certified Autism Movement Therapy provider and trained in many established autism treatment approaches.

I am a contributing writer for the Missouri Autism Report. I am the author of several articles and books including: AutPlay® Therapy for Children and Adolescents on the Autism Spectrum ♦ Play Based Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorder ♦ The Autism Spectrum Disorder Workbook for Children ♦ The Autism Spectrum Disorder Workbook for Adolescents.  I am a founding board member for the not for profit organization Stars for Autism. I am an international speaker who conducts various presentations and workshops on topics such as mental health, play therapy, and autism spectrum disorder.
