Shubhabrata Datta
Dr. Shubhabrata Datta, presently a research professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, SRM University, Chennai, India, graduated from Calcutta University (B.E. College) and did his Ph.D. from BESU, Shibpur (presently known as Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology) in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Dr. Datta has 25 years of teaching and research experience. His research interest is in the area of materials modeling and optimization.
Biography
Dr. Shubhabrata Datta, presently a research professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai, India, earned his B.E. and M.E. from Calcutta University (B.E. College) and Ph.D. from BESU, Shibpur (presently known as Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology) in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Dr. Datta has 25 years of teaching and research experience. His research interest is in the area of materials modeling and optimization.Dr. Datta was conferred with Exchange Scientist Award from Royal Academy of Engineering, UK and worked in the University of Sheffield, UK. He also worked Dept of Materials Science and Engineering, Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, Dept of Materials Science and Engineering, Iowa State University, Ames, USA and Heat Engineering Lab, Dept of Chemical Engineering, Åbo Akademi University, Finland as Visiting Scientist.
He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), and Life Member, Materials Research Society of India. Dr. Datta is the Associate Editor, Journal of the Institution of Engineers (India): Series D and Member, Editorial Board of International Journal of Materials Engineering Innovation.
Eight PhD students of Dr. Datta have been conferred their degrees. Dr. Datta has more than 100 publications in journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
