Jens Marquardt
Jens Marquardt is a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Halle-Wittenberg and a Research Associate with the Environmental Policy Research Centre at the Freie Universität Berlin. His research interests include the links between social sciences and environmental technologies, the role of power and coordination in complex governance arrangements, development theory and sustainability transitions. Jens is particularly interested in energy transitions in developing countries.

Biography
Jens Marquardt is a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Halle-Wittenberg and a Research Associate with the Environmental Policy Research Centre at the Freie Universität Berlin. His research interests include the links between social sciences and environmental technologies, the role of power and coordination in complex governance arrangements, development theory and sustainability transitions. Jens is particularly interested in the political dimension of energy transitions in developing countries.Jens teaches various BA and MA courses about environmental politics, sustainability transitions and Southeast Asia. He was previously employed at the Centre for Sustainability Management in Lüneburg and worked for the German donor agency GIZ in Southeast Asia.
Jens received his PhD in Political Science at the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU) in 2015. His dissertation investigates how power and multi-level governance structures affect renewable energy development in Southeast Asia. This project was funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU).
